Rekeying a lock is the process of replacing the old tumblers in a lock cylinder with new ones and feeting it to a new key. After a lock has been re-keyed, the old keys will not operate the lock anymore. Rekeying of all the locks is suggested when there is a concern that an unauthorized person has access to a key. Some examples of such a situation are:

When do you need a lock rekey?
